In short: this site explains heirship and takes inquiries. Any work we do for you is agreed separately in writing, and that agreement governs, not this page.
Using the site
By using heir.land you agree to these terms and to our privacy page. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
The descent chart
- The chart does arithmetic from the Texas and Oklahoma descent statutes as we summarize them. Its output is not a legal determination of heirship and is not a substitute for the advice of an attorney.
- It assumes there was no will and that the facts you enter are complete. Wills, adoptions, divorces, half-blood relatives, deaths in quick succession, and older versions of the statutes can all change the answer.
- A title examiner, an operator, or a court decides who the heirs are. Check any result with them before anyone signs or records anything.
Who we are to you
Our Landmen LLC works as independent professional landmen. We are not attorneys and do not give legal opinions. Sending the form does not create an attorney-client relationship, a fiduciary duty, or a contract.
Fair use of the site
Please do not scrape the site in bulk, send false or spam inquiries, probe or attack the site’s security, or pose as someone else.
Ownership
The text, drawings, marks and code on this site belong to Our Landmen LLC or its licensors.
Limits on liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Our Landmen LLC is not liable for indirect, special, punitive or consequential damages from using or relying on this site.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Wyoming and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
